
Shirin Armonova
Chairperson of Committee of Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan
Shirin Amonzoda current serves as the Chairperson of the Committee of Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. Prior to this post she served as Deputy Chairperson of the abovementioned Committee from 2017-2020. Ms. Amonzoda worked as a Chief Specialist of the Main Department of Trade Policy and Consumer Market from 2012-2017; as a Chief Specialist for the Department of Cooperation with Foreign Countries from 2007-2012; and a Chief Specialist of the Protocol Service at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan from 2005-2007.
Ms. Amonzoda graduated from the Asia Pacific University with a specialty of International Cooperation Policy, Development Economics. She has contributed to research papers entitled “Tourism Public Planning Policy and its impact to national economy”, (Japan, 2016), History of East poetry in England and America (Dushanbe, 2004) and is the independent author of several publications in frame of the Dialogue of Civilization (1999-2004).
Ms. Amonzoda has been an early proponent of tourism development in Tajikistan as a separate sector for reinforcing capacity building, infrastructure development, and enhancing investment. She led the development of the Strategy on Tourism development for the period of 2030 in the Republic of Tajikistan which includes improving the quality of service in airports, simplification of visa issuance and registration, licensing tourist entrepreneurship, destination management organizations in the regions of the country and other important aspects of this industry.
